Protection Magick

Protection is a big topic, and one that we should all take seriously. Not just in a magickal sense, but in a mundane sense as well. We can’t always protect ourselves from every bad thing that could happen, but we can certainly try.

Magickally, there are a ton of herbs and stones that can help us protect ourselves and our homes. I’ve listed some below. But the most important thing to remember, is that protection comes from you. You can do several things to keep yourself protected.

  • Ground and center, and then create a protective bubble encompassing your bodies, both physical and energetic. If you’re not familiar with how to do exercises like this, I recommend The Inner Temple of Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak.
  • Maintain awareness of your surroundings. See if you can intuitively pick up on things that are going on around you, and train yourself to be alert to danger.
  • Create protective sigils to tattoo or draw onto your skin when you go out. Power them up regularly with magickal oils or perfumes that make you feel strong and protected.
  • Create a protective charm bag to place in your car for safe travels. Also, carry a protective charm bag in your purse or pocket!
  • Create an energetic shield around your home with the use of some of the herbs and stones listed below.
  • Create energetic ‘locks’ on the doors and windows of your home by tracing symbols of your faith onto the surface, and then imagining that they only allow positive, beneficial energies to enter your space.
  • Create a witch bottle to bury near your front door.

I realize that I could go into more detail about these protective stones and herbs, but I think the most important part of any spell is A. What do you have around? and B. Intention. So choose a blend of stones and herbs that works for you!

Do you have methods that you use for magickal protection? Please share in the comments, and blessed be! <3
