Smudge spray recipe!

Purifying Smudge Spray
Purifying Smudge Spray

So as part of my Project: Persephone365 doings this month, I’ve started purifying myself every night before bed.  I start by calling back all the energy that I sent out, and giving all the energy that was sent to me back to the people who sent it with love and light.  (Or sending any negativity into the earth to be grounded.)  Then I’ve been spraying myself with Florida Water for its cleansing properties.

The problem with Florida Water is that it’s spicy and citrusy, and energizing.  NOT the sort of energy you want as you’re getting ready to crash.  So I made a smudge spray instead.

I used clary sage oil instead of sage oil, because it’s a type of sage and it also helps you get to sleep.  Perfect!

I did this in a 16oz glass spray bottle, so the measurements are for a 16oz batch.  Cut them or multiply accordingly.

Purifying Smudge Spray

7.5 oz 100 proof vodka
7.5 oz rose water
3 pinches salt (I used pink Himalayan salt, but you can really use anything)
1 small quartz crystal
1 small tumbled citrine
3 leaves of white sage
5 splinters of palo santo wood
99 drops clary sage essential oil
13 drops lemongrass essential oil
13 drops sandalwood essential oil
9 drops cedarwood essential oil
9 drops frankincense essential oil
9 drops myrrh essential oil

Add all ingredients into the bottle, add the spray nozzle, and shake periodically until the essential oils dissipate into the alcohol.  (This may take a few hours or a few days, just shake it now and again as you pass by.)

This spray turns out kind of a milky white with a pale yellow tinge, but it may change colors.  My Florida water went from super cloudy yellow to a clear orange over time.  And the smell may take a few days to really settle in.  Mine smells weak right now, but I’m going to wait a few days before I add something else, as the Florida water took a while to really develop the scent.

Let me know if you try it and what you think!  Blessed be!  🙂
